Pokémon GO Update: GO Plus+ Connectivity and Device Issues
An update for Pokémon GO has quietly introduced the ability for Pokémon GO Plus+ devices to connect to the game. Several Trainers have reported successful connections, despite it not being possible previously. Niantic is believed to have enabled the connectivity on their end and whitelisted the device.
On the other hand, some Trainers have encountered problems with their older GO Plus devices around the same time. If you are facing issues, we recommend completely reconnecting your device. Remove and re-add it to ensure a proper connection.
Recently, a redditor named u/doomshtick shared some new details and screenshots of the Pokémon GO Plus+ device:
- Regular GO Plus device is experiencing issues, particularly on Android devices:
- After restarting the game, GO Plus will not attempt to catch Pokémon, even with the "Identify Nearby Pokémon" setting enabled. You need to disable and re-enable the setting for catching to work again.
- Push notifications randomly turning on without Trainer's explicit selection.
- Frequent disconnects.
- Failure to catch Pokémon while paired.
- To address these problems, we recommend the following steps:
- Reconnect your Accessory devices.
- Turn Bluetooth on and off.
- If possible, clear Bluetooth cache.
- Note: Most of these issues were reported on the 0.277.0 update.
There is also a bug affecting the Pokémon GO Plus device where it fails to catch Pokémon after restarting the game. To fix this, disable and re-enable the "Identify Nearby Pokémon" setting on your device.
The Pokémon GO community is currently experiencing various bugs, including issues with the GO Battle League (GBL) and trading functionality. These ongoing challenges have raised concerns about the game's focus following the recent termination of 230 employees.
